Pennsylvania State Archives Announces Summer 2010 Archives Without Tears Workshops
The Pennsylvania State Archives is pleased to announce its Summer 2010 Archives Without Tears Training workshops.
Archives Without Tears is an affordable workshop for those who work or volunteer in organizations that deal with the past—whether it’s a museum; private, non-profit, or college archives; the city clerk’s office; the library’s local history room; or a historic site. You’ll get practical advice, sample forms and policies, and learn basic practices so that you can collect, preserve, and assist researchers with the historical treasures in your care.
The workshops comprise two full days, with the first focusing primarily on basic archival practices and also offers a short session on records management. The second day will concentrate on disaster planning/preparedness and photographic media care.
The following are the organizations that have graciously provided facilities and made arrangements for the Pennsylvania State Archives to present this year’s workshops. Also listed are dates and locations.
